Janko is a Sport Psychologist who helps athletes and teams achieve their goals and realise their potential. He is one of only a handful of athletes who have represented South Africa at youth, junior and senior national level. He won his first South African title in the sprint hurdles at age group level in 1992 and his last at senior level in 2008. His time competing at top level allowed him to gain first-hand knowledge of the mindset of top performers and also experience the impact of the practical application of mental excellence.

His experience and observation of the difference mental preparation and one’s mindset can have on performance fuelled Janko to study the mindset of top athletes and mental excellence techniques for the past 15 years. His practical experience (in sport and organisational culture transformation), extensive research and formal academic training inspired him to develop the Mental Excellence Inventory™ and High Performing Team Profile™ that underpins his work with individuals and teams where he guides them in effectively using their minds to achieve their goals.

Janko is a registered Psychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa and the Board of Healthcare Funders of South Africa. He completed his undergraduate studies in Sport Management and Sport Psychology at the then Rand Afrikaans University. His most recent post graduate qualification is in the form of a Masters Degree in Industrial Psychology which he completed Cum Laude at the University of South Africa.
