EC Active club top junior athlete, George Kusche, could make his mark amongst the big guns at the Randburg Streetmile after an exceptional year of top flight competitive racing.

George Kusche does not bother much about the who’s who and what’s trending in the sport, he just worries about is running and running really fast. The 9th place finisher at the World Junior Championships in the 800m seems to be in a form of his own on the track, cross country and I’m pretty sure, on the road as well.

After having to settle for the silver medal at this year’s South African Junior Track & Field Championships, the strong-man came back with a bang by finishing fourth at the senior national championships, narrowly missing out on a medal. The 1996 Olympic 800m silver medallist and South African record in the same event, Hezekiel Sepeng, posted and almost bragged boldly on social media about the talent and potential Kusche is showing! Does the youngster need more approval about his gift? I highly doubt.

A naturally-gifted yet hard working athlete like George is someone to look look-out for now, not a few years from now. He will be lining up as one of the favourites to win the Randburg Streetmile on 4 September 2016 at the Randburg Central Sports Complex, so make means to come and witness the future of athletics in action NOW, not a few years from now. He will be joined by the cream of the crop junior athletes in the country consisting of Warno Potgieter, Bongani Nkosi and Robert Bester to name a few. George Kusche has bright blonde hair and will be kitted in the bright red project colours of EC Active athletics club , so he cannot be missed!
