Up first was Alyssa Conley in heat 7 of the 100m heats. Conley who is to put her focus on the 200m said she would use the 100m to warm up her legs. Conley had a decent start with a 0.143 reaction time but faded as the race progressed to finish 6th with a time of 11.57.

Horn lined up in the very last heat with USA’s English Gardner. Horn however ran her own race and powered through to take 2nd place and a qualifying spot with 11.32. Horn will now line up in the semi’s and look to prooduce a life time best to make that SA record her own and possibly sneak into the final 8.
